National Rehabilitation Awareness Week is a celebration to promote the benefits and impact of rehabilitation and the capabilities of people with disABILITIES.
During the week of September 17-23, GoTHERAPY will highlight phenomenal occupational therapist, physical therapist and speech language pathologist from around the world.

JUNE 2017 – Co-Founder, Robin F. Baker selected as The Daily Record’s “Very Important Professional Successful by 40” in Maryland

APRIL 2017 – GOTHERAPY presents at the District of Columbia Occupational Therapy Association (DCOTA) Centennial Conference

April is Occupational Therapy month and this year the profession celebrates its 100th year anniversary (1917-2017)!  Co-Founders, Robin Baker & Christopher Gaskins had the pleasure of presenting, “GoTHERAPY in Ghana: A Sustainable Approach to International Occupational Therapy  at the DCOTA Centennial Conference on April 29, 2017.

 

March 2017 – “Rehabilitation in Coastal Ghana”

GoTHERAPY partnered with Cape Coast Teaching Hospital in Cape Coast, Ghana for a “Rehabilitation in Coastal Ghana” Service project. Volunteers were able to work alongside healthcare providers to treat patients and provide patient, caregiver and therapist training. Volunteers also hosted an inservice where they educated rehab therapist on “Management of the hemiplegic shoulder and CVA patient” and “Feeding and positioning for children with cerebral palsy” Thank you to Cape Coast Teaching Hospital Rehabilitation Department for the hospitality, we look forward to working with you in the future.

The GoTHERAPY Social Justice Award was established to recognize an outstanding Howard University Occupational Therapy student and sponsor their attendance to the 2017 American Occupational Therapy Association Annual Conference & Centennial. We are honored to recognize Jasmine for her commitment to the occupational therapy profession and advocacy of people with disabilities and their families  around the world.

SALT Rehabilitation Clinic is the first of its kind in Liberia specializing in Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapies. SALT is sponsored by CE Turkett Consultants, LLC and is staffed by  experienced therapists, and locally trained mid level workers certified in all three disciplines and are supervised and mentored by licensed PT, OT and ST from the United States.
